Review

This is official description

MyLife Organized software helps you to think and act differently – and doing things differently is the first step in digging yourself out of the procrastination rut. The main idea of MyLife Organized is to help you to plan and organize your time in such a way that you accomplish your most important goals as quickly as possible. Organize your goals, projects and tasks into a tree and MyLife Organized will generate a simple To Do list of actions for you. This list will contain only those actions that require immediate attention. The To Do list will be sorted in order of priority so that you can stay focused on what is really important to you.

The following review written by one of the Software Informer contributors applies to version 3.5

MyLife Organized is a powerful software application designed to help you program, organize, and carry out your pending tasks regardless of the kind they are (business, professional, personal, etc.) and of how they relate to each other, even when they are part of a bigger project.

This program is GTD compliant, which means that it makes use of "Getting Things Done", a methodology developed by David Allen to help people execute their tasks in their ideal order. Among the most important features of MyLife Organized, one will allow you to group your pending tasks into projects and categories, create dependencies and relationships among them, create reminders, add contexts, comments, and flags to your tasks, and record your individual progress for each one, thus keeping track of your global progress.

The program's interface is light and easy to use: it offers a big panel where you can see all your tasks, projects, and categories clearly identified, and another one where you have access to all the task and project details, including their general properties, timing, and reminder specifications (parent dates can be inherited), effort level, dependencies, format, statistics, and general notes. On the first panel, you can switch between Outline and To-Do views - the first one allows you to see the hierarchical organization (classification in categories, projects, and tasks), while the second one presents you with a general view and the corresponding due dates, if any.

A very important issue about this program is the fact that there is a free edition with no expiration date. However, several of the previously-mentioned features are disabled in it - for example, it only allows 10 contexts per task, it does not allow you to track your projects, and it will not let you configure mutual dependencies between tasks. This review applies to the fully functional trial version of the program, which allows you to test all of its features for 45 days before buying a license, in case you want to keep using it.
  • Allows you to organize your tasks in projects and categories.
  • Creates dependencies and relationships between the tasks.
  • Lets you record and track your individual and global progress.
  • GTD (Getting Things Done) compliant.
  • Only a 45-day trial version.
